Thomas G. Wolf (Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. dent.), graduated at the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz (Germany) in 2011. From 2006 to 2011 he completed a 5-year training in Medical and Psychotherapeutic Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy at the Center for Applied Hypnosis (Head: Götz Renartz) with Master Certification of the German Society for Autosystem Hypnosis (Mainz, Germany). In 2012, he completed his Dr. med. dent. in the Department of Oral Surgery on “Dental Hypnosis for Acute Pain” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dr. Monika Daubländer. In 2017, he habilitated in stomatology. He worked from 2011 at the Department of Operative Dentistry & Periodontology at the University of Mainz (Germany), but since 2/2018 as guest-researcher due to his movement to the University of Bern in Switzerland. In Bern, he is employed at the Department of Restorative, Preventive & Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Bern (Switzerland) as senior physician with leadership function and responsibility for endodontology in research and teaching. Dr. Wolf is involved in numerous research projects on restorative dentistry, preventive and pediatric dentistry as well as oral epidemiology and public health, and of course, hypnosis. He has been a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of German-speaking Hypnosis Societies since 2011 and, together with Prof. Dr. Ulrike Halsband, President since 2017. He has been a Council of Representative Member of the European ESH and International Society of Hypnosis ISH since 2013, a Member of the board since 2012, and President of the German Society for Dental Hypnosis DGZH since 2015. In addition to his research activities to his involvement in pre- and postgraduate teaching, Dr. Wolf is a link to students and between universities and practitioners. He is a member of the German delegation and represents dentists in Europe at the Council of European Dentists (EU countries), at the European Regional Organization FDI-ERO (WHO-Europe countries) and at the FDI World Dental Federation.
